In this movie Callum Keith Rennie plays Billy Tallent, the former guitarist for the band Hard Core Logo. They broke up a couple of years ago but have now reunited to preform a benifit concert for the wounded punk guitarist Bucky Haight.
The format of the film is a mock documentry, that is to say that its fake but while your watching it you belive it must have really happened. At the begging they are getting ready for the concert. Joe Dick is discussing the band. After Billy arives, back from a gig with Genifur, the do the concert and it goes well. The decide to do a five city concert tour.
We quickly see that Billy is the only one in the band who has his act together. He is the only one who has plans for after the tour. He tends not to join in on the join, choseing instead to be simply and observer.
Joe Dick seems to have major problems with sucess and has in the past sabatoged his own chances for it.
Pipefitter- we don't see much of him. He seems to have a girlfriends and that is about all we know.
John Oxenberger has some sort of phycatric disorder and loses his meds at the first stop on the road. As the movie goes on he slips further and further over the edge. He acts as a sort of window to the group as he writes in his journal..
The film ends with a tragic last concert as Joe and Billy go at it on stage after the filmaker revealed to Joe the Billy had signed with Genifur. In the final scene Billy takes his own life.
Over all I think the film was okay. Frankly, punk rock or whatever they were playing is not really my cup of tea. I did think that the acting was very good but all of the swearing put me off.
